Women in Law Japan is excited to co-host a special keynote speaker event by Zia Mody of AZB & Partners with International House of Japan. Amongst her busy schedule, Ms. Mody has kindly agreed to present to our members and supporters, what we are sure will be a thoroughly worthwhile session!

As female legal professionals, we all struggle a great deal to achieve what we want in our career and lives, as a woman, lawyer, mother, wife, daughter and sister. Despite certain differences, the struggle is common regardless of where you live. It is always helpful to learn from a senior female professional who has overcome such circumstances and has been recognized internationally. Ms. Mody will share her stories and insights with a particular focus on:
• her upbringing, aspiration to become a lawyer, and the social and economic environment in India and
internationally at the time.
• her ambition and struggles in starting and growing a law firm with 400 plus lawyers in India.
• her values (running deep within her, developed over a period of time, and unmoving) which she has
embedded in her work and in her firm.
• behaviors she has actively encouraged and discouraged. What worked, and what did not work.
• other challenges she faced in her personal, professional, and private life and how she dealt with it,
e.g. what tools and what help from others.

This event is open to all WILJ members and supporters of all genders as long as we receive your RSVP by 22 February 2019. We are expecting this event to be very popular, so we encourage you to register early.

We will be conducting the seminar in English, but will welcome questions from the floor in both English and in Japanese.
