What We Do

A new and innovative networking platform for women in the legal profession in Japan, comprised of legal practitioners working in private practice, in-house, in government and in the citizenship sector, as well as those engaged in professional support capacities within legal service firms and other similar organizations.

We call upon women lawyers (both Japanese and internationally-qualified), in-house counsel, judges, prosecutors, patent attorneys, paralegals, business development managers, human resource managers, finance managers, law school students and the like to join us in making this a vibrant network.

日本において法律実務全般に関与している女性達の新しく、且つ未だかつてないネットワークです。国内法律事務所や国際法律事務所に所属する法律実務家（日本の弁護士資格或いは外国の弁護士資格を問わず）、企業内法務部にて法律実務に従事する方々（資格の保有を問わず）、政府或いは市民セクターにて法律実務に従事する方々、法律事務所や類似の団体にてプロフェッショナルなサポート業務に従事する方々のネットワークです。

女性の日本弁護士・外国弁護士、企業内法務部にて実務に従事されている方々、裁判官、検察官、弁理士、パラリーガル、法律事務所や他の類似の団体にて仕事に従事している事業開発マネージャー、人事マネージャーや経理・財務マネージャー、法学部や法科大学院の学生の方々にお声掛けさせて頂いており、共に活発なネットワークの構築を目指したいと思っております。

Key Priorities

During the time of our tenure, we are committed to advancing the mission of Women In Law Japan with a focus on 3 key priorities:

1. We will actively work towards raising the
representation of women in leadership roles in the legal profession. By
continuing to foster our mentorship program, providing skill-building
opportunities, and advocating for gender inclusive policies, we aim to
break barriers and empower more women to ascend to leadership position.

2.
Recognising the transformative impact of technology and innovation, we
will invest in initiatives that equip our members with cutting edge
knowledge . Embracing technological advancements will not only enhance
our efficiency but also position us at the forefront of the evolving
legal landscape.

3. Create even greater collaboration with our peer
organizations to promote the exchange of ideas and experiences as a
formally registered NPO (ippan shadan hojin) which we expect to complete
in 2024. Through partnerships, forums and networking events, we will
strengthen our community, fostering a sense of unity and support among
women in the legal profession while promoting a diverse and inclusive
legal community.
