Clara Shirota
Clara Shirota is a member of the Executive Committee of WILJ.
Clara is a Partner in White & Case’s Asia Debt Finance and Restructuring practice, based in Tokyo. She co-leads the sponsor finance practice of the APAC region and has extensive experience advising private equity funds and other strategic investors on a wide range of complex financings, with a focus on leveraged acquisition and take-private finance, refinancings, dividend recapitalizations and restructurings, debt buy-backs and bank/bond transactions. Clara was recognized by Asian Legal Business as one of Asia’s Top 15 Female Lawyers in 2021.
Prior to joining White & Case, Clara worked at a leading global law firm based in Hong Kong and Tokyo. She is admitted in New York, Hong Kong and England and Wales and is a Registered Foreign Attorney in Japan. Clara is a member of the Daini Tokyo Bar Association.
As a passionate leader for diversity and inclusion, she is a member of White & Case’s APAC Diversity & Inclusion Steering Committee, Tokyo office’s Global Citizenship Committee and the APAC Women in PE group.
